Comments I stopped in Guam for three days because I wanted to see more of the island than the airport which I passed through several times while traveling in Micronesia. The diving in Guam is awful, flat sandy bottoms with little coral, fish or other life.

I did two dives with Micronesia Dive Associates. They are reputed to be the best in Guam. I was crammed on a boat with about 25 other divers. This is not my idea of fun. They cater to locals. There is no where to rinse gear after dives.

Southern Guam is worth exploring for a day via car. It has so far escaped being turned into subdivisions to house military personnel.

Guam is also where my concerns about the design of my Ikelite housing were confirmed. Fortunately disaster struck at the end of the trip and not its start. Buy Ikelite only if you consider cameras and housings disposable items.
