Comments Amed is a sleepy little town with lots of character. It is the best place to stay to dive in Amed and in Tulamben. We are staying at the bungalows owned by the owners of Adventure Divers Bali. The bungalows are beautiful set into the hill and surrounded by foliage! The dive center is behind the bungalows but you would never know it. The dive operation is phenomenal. First, every diver is served a large made to order breakfast. The staff here is courteous and helpful. We have never touched our gear since we arrived. It was placed in crates and the dive team move it from the center to the car each day. At the end of diving, they take it away to clean and hang. We have been with one dive master all week. It's a 1:2 or 1:3 ratio. He is phenomenal; he can find everything on the wreck, reef and muck dives. Bottom times are around 1 hour but priority is safety. The winds and waves were up this week so the shore diving has been a bit dicey. The DM has always been in the water helping each of us in and out. The dive operation is stellar. Hot tea, coffee, water and bisquits are available during the safety stop. If we dive in Amed we return to the bungalows. If we dive in or around Tulamben, we stay there for the safety stop. The dive pace is relaxed and slow. I have never felt rushed as a diver or photographer. After the dive, all of the divers are served a hot cooked meal. The food is excellent. I cannot say enough good about this dive operation and if you look them up online, they get 5* across the board. The owners are helpful and friendly and relaxed. They accommodate whatever requests they can. They know how to run a business.

Enforced diving restrictions We stayed with the guide. Why would we not when he could spot things far better than we could. Plus the surge/waves were not something to contend without his expertise.

UW Photo Comments There is no accommodation for cameras. There are some rinse tanks at some of the sights but divers throw masks into the tanks. This is all shore diving so they do not have anything for cameras. There is no camera table back at the resort. This is the only weakness.
