Comments This is our second trip with Aquamarine Diving, headed by expat Brit Annabel Thomas, and we have nothing but raves for her and for our experience. Her dive staff is expert at finding the unusual, and both of us love the service (gear carried, comfortable transport, nice boat). The staff knocked itself out to find interesting animals for us.
I also highly recommend Annabel Thomas as a travel agent. Like many dive operations, she can book you soup to nuts. Her recommendations for hotels covers the charming budget site to the blow the budget site, and she takes care of every detail. I have enormous regard for her and shall book our next trip to Bali with Aquamarine.
Amankila is absolutely amazing. Take a look at its website and you will see what I mean! Not only is the setting in the hills gorgeous, the villas luxurious, the food delicious, but it is the service that stands out. Warm, prompt, detailed--whether a pedicure or caring for our dive gear.
Bali diving is NOT for the newbie. Currents are strong and unpredictable; thermoclines abound; and excellent buoyancy control is a necessity. If you have the chops, however, you will have a great experience underwater and on land!
