Comments The Arenui is deluxe diving. The very friendly staff does everything, including helping you dress and undress from your wetsuit for every dive. They hang and dry, set up all your equipment and even put on your fins! Food is served (not buffet) with your choice of entrees in the evening. Tasty. Rooms are large and comfortable with hotel amenities, flush toilets, excellent showers with plenty of hot water pressure.
Diving is primarily topographical. Gorgeous walls with overhangs and diverse healthy coral structures. Sealife is varied but not teeming, primarily macro with numerous nudibranchs and hidden pigmy seahorses. The occasional shark and a few manta encounters. Lovely diving but a bit samey after 10 days. 4 divers per divemaster. 16 divers max. 3-4 dives per day. Backward rolls from tenders. Easy diving with little drama.
A land visit to Komodo National Park was a highlight to witness these dinosaurs up close and personal.
The Arenui is expensive but luxurious. I booked this trip almost 3 years in advance. This converted Phinisi is pristine with an accommodating fun crew. Worthy of the price and the distance.
