Comments I actually completed this dive trip from September 5-17, 2016, after my disappointing MV Pindito liveaboard trip. This was a budget dive trip arranged by our dive club through Bali Scuba in Denpasar (Sanur), Bali. Our group of about 12 divers circumnavigated (clockwise) Bali hitting the main dive spots along the way.

Bali Scuba made all the local arrangements for hotels, transportation, tanks, Nitrox, baggage, etc. The only thing the divers had to worry about was finding a place to eat Supper. The total cost of the trip was about $1600.00 usd, which included breakfast, lunch, Nitrox, dive guides, transportation, etc. Basically, everything except Supper (and tips). Bali Scuba even arranged airport pickup and drop off.

We use two buses that were comfortable (and had AC) with two designated drivers. The dive guides (3) traveled with us and stayed at the same hotels. These guides were excellent. Our dive club made the same trip in 2015 with Bali Scuba and we asked for the same dive guides. They were excellent in the water at pointing out critters and were equally good on shore at looking after all our needs. There were a couple of new divers in our group and the guides looked after them as well.

We did a combination of boat and shore dives (about 6 shore dives) over 12 days (about 30 dives in total). The dives were all at least 1 hour long with a couple of night dives at Tulamben. The dive locations: Padang Bai, Nusa Penida, Menjangan, Puri Jati, Tulamben, Seraya, Amed, East coast islands.

For the sea critters that we saw you can watch Nick Hope's Bali video on Youtube. I saw pretty much everything in that Video, plus maybe a couple more critters (search on Nick Hope Bali to find 'Diving in Bali 720P')

The hotels were mostly all budget hotels that I would rate as 3 stars. All had AC, were clean, had ample hot water, and so on: Sindhu Mertha in Sanur, Adi Assra resort, Paradise bungalows. Although, I'm sure that if you're looking for 4 or 5 start hotels Bali Scuba can make different arrangements. Bali Scuba management was very receptive to our accommodation and diving needs. The one draw back was that the dive boats did not have rinse tanks for camera equipment. We did two morning dives and returned for lunch followed by an afternoon or night dive, so that wasn't a big issue. Except for the Nusa Penida boat dives where we were out all day. I wore a 3mm wetsuit for all the dives, except for Nusa Penida where I wore a 5mm. Unfortunately, we didn't spot the Mola Mola. Most of the dives were in calm waters with very little current, except Nusa Penida where the currents are quite a bit stronger, and possibly one other dive site.

The diving in Bali is fantastic as is Bali Scuba. In fact, the dive organizer for our 2016 trip has planned a return trip for 2017 using Bali Scuba. This will be her 3rd trip to Bali in 3 consecutive years.

UW Photo Comments The dive boats did not have rinse tanks for camera gear. I believe this is normal for Bali boat diving.
