Comments Life is easy on this 3-masted wooden schooner, at over 50 meters the biggest liveaboard I have ever been on. 22 crew members made sure the 18 divers on board were properly spoiled with hot drinks, bath towels and a neck & shoulder massage after every dive. Four dives a day with detailed briefings, the last dive normally a dusk or night dive. Excellent food with Western or Indonesian options, buffet style with pre-ordered hot dishes for a full breakfast after the first dive. and a lavish buffet lunch after the second dive. Table service at dinner, with wine. Two spacious dive boats whisked us to varied dive sites, mainly in the Misool area because of rough seas in northern Raja Ampat. Fine with me, as Misool is at the very top of my long list of superior dive sites anywhere. Think oceanic and reef mantas gliding around, a guitar shark shooting off its sand hideaway in front of me, hundreds of chevron barracudas and jacks circling right above us, reef and black tip sharks hovering below. The list of macro life is endless, too, and I almost stepped on a rock that turned out to be an octopus in full camouflage. Add the huge variety of soft and hard corals in all possible colors, and you have a perfect vacation.
