Comments We were originally scheduled to dive in Tulamben, but beause Mt. Agung was expected to erupt any minute that whole area of the island was evacuated. Our second stop was to be the Mimpi Resort in Pemuteran, but when I checked with them the price was way higher than the original price that I had booked months before. So, I looked for another place to stay and dive. We ended up staying at the Taman Sari and diving with Dive Academy next door. Not only did we like the Taman Sari and thought it a good hotel for the money, but for the most part we were very impressed with the Dive Academy. They had very new equipment to rent, they gave my husband and me our own dive master, and they have a fast boat. This was my first diving in a while, and because of my allergies I had a problem with clearing my ears. We did a sort of check out dive near shore, which was actually interesting as they are building artificial reefs and using electricity to help generate the coral growth. I had a problem on the next deeper dive and let my husbnd go ahead with the guide. The next day I tanked up on Sudafed I did mangage but slowly. It was nice having our own guide. We were diving some coral heads, and they were interesting and pretty. The next day we took the boat to Menjangan Island the main dive spot for the area, and it was prettier. They asked us what we wanted for lunch, and because I figured the noodles and rice dishes would come with an egg, which I didn't want, I chose the club sandwich. Unfortunatly I think they just put the sandwich in with the other dishes unrefrigerated. About four hours or so after returning I got sick. So disappointing! I wasn't able to dive any more. When we were paying they wanted to charge me for the meal that I didn't eat because I missed the dive. Needless to say I wasn't happy as I was pretty sure why I got sick and missed the dive. While taking no responsibility they did end up not charging me for the meal. I do doubt that they will ever do this again, so I do still think that they are probably the best dive operation, and I do appreciate their interest in the reef development. Later diving at the Mimpi my husband realized that while it was closer to the island they didn't get there any faster because they use a slow boat, so time to the island was about the same for both places.

Enforced diving restrictions I'm not sure. I tried to get my husband to write this since he did more diving with them, but I think it was until they had the 500 bars.

UW Photo Comments I just don't know anything about their facilities for photography. Their shop is not large. I imagine that anyone taking phots would deal with their cameras in their rooms.
