Comments i have dived at raja ampat dive lodge for a weeks time before or after a ten day live aboard on explorer or temu kira for the last five years. Each time it is always the best diving ever. I do not understand why any reader would dive with any other operator.
This oct. 2017 we are on temu Kira to kaimana after a week at the raja ampat dive lodge. Last oct. 2016 we dived the lodge then temu Kira to cendrawasih bay to dive with the whale sharks. Boat was not full. Chef was fantastic. Shrimp, grilled fish, soups, everything tastey and beautifully prepared. Why dive anywhere or with any other operator? The dive lodge food was not that great for westerners. Same stuff. Indonesians loved it. We often are the only westerners at the dive lodge. You dive three or four dives a day. Can stay out for three dives with picnic lunch and enjoy amazing dive site north west of dampier straits.
CB was unique as we were up close all day with twenty huge sharks. And for an added treat we went ashore to a Papuan village where Wilson our guide said they likely have not ever seen westerners. They smelled like they never used soap either. But one villager had a tablet and had our photo taken. So a cultural experience as well.

Grand Komodo tours will arrange all travel and stays at Indonesian hotels and flights once inside the country. We prefer them to book on Garuda cuz you pay a bit more but there is never an overage fee for taking dive gear and photo equipment. $3500 for the boat and $3200 for a week of unlimited dives at the dive lodge. A truely great experience, year after year. We fly Singapore manado on silk air. Then manado sorong. Lodge or boat picks us up in sorong. Need a few days to get to Singapore however. And a few days out as flights are not every day. So just do the lodge or the boat if you are short for time. Explorer is great for a ten day cruise to misool and back. Watch out for bad weather in Jan, feb, march rainy season. When in manado we dive KBR in lembeh straits. It nlimited food, nice and easy diving, great cottages on the beach. Good massages.
Happy diving.

Enforced diving restrictions Wonderful experience. Go dive raja ampat with grand Komodo tours on any of their liveaboards or at the dive lodge. Raja ampat is not an area for beginner divers due to strong currents. Need 50 dives recently.
