[None]The muck diving is as good as Lembeh--meaning it's superb. Especially the frogfish, all kinds including the psychedelic frogfish, mimic octopus, mantis shrimp, harlequin shrimp etc. Best macro guides I've ever encountered--my only reservation is I thought he was harassing the psychedelic frogfish to get it out in the open, so I asked him to move on. But a tremendous pair of eyes. I was with a couple of some of the dives and then (over a short period of three or four days) by myself. Since the dives were shallow, we could stay down as long as we wanted within reason--eg, an hour and a half. There's some current on some of the dives, not a problem when I was there. Visibility is limited, as expected on muck dives. Very short boat trips. The accommodation is high end, individual cottages spread over a lush estate. Food's quite good. Right near the Ambon airport (I got there by boat but left by plane). Highly recommended for muck and critter enthusiasts, as as good as it gets. Nothing much in the way of corals or schooling fish and nothing big. |

UW Photo Comments | The boat trips were very short so the onshore facilities were sufficient. |
