Comments There is nothing not to like about at Misool. Misool is a vast, patrolled, marine protected area and as a result the walls and reefs are covered with healthy hard and soft corals, brilliantly colourful on top of the reef. Reefs are teaming with fish of every colour and size and they are not shy. The dive guides are experienced and great at spotting all the tiny Pygmy Seahorses and more. We had a guide to ourselves.
Dives are offered up to five times per day, nitrox included, dive sites 5-10/15 minutes away, same dive boat, group (6 max) and guides for the duration of the trip.
The resort with its water cottages situated over the lagoon is wonderful. From the deck or dining area you can see turtles, sharks and other fish. Snorkel between dives or skip a dive and snorkel from your deck.
Covered and outdoor dining area is lovely and the food delicious, though don’t expect fish. Misool is a no take zone. Staff and guests, approximately 40 that are there for the duration of the trip, were friendly. Several repeat guests present. Resort hopes to expand solar energy sufficiently to switch to electric powered dive boats.
Highlight were the oceanic Manta Rays we watched at Eagle Rock on the last dive, a spectacular finale. Also best night dive I’ve had in a long time.
