A group of 8 of us took advantage of Papua Paradise as an "adjustment" time before our Dewi Nusantara Raja Ampat trip. We chose them because they are the only resort that has a daily fast boat transport that synched with our Dewi schedule. Because it's such a long haul to get to Sorong, we ended up being very glad we came in early for 3 days of boat diving in Raja. The staff greeted our boat with a rousing song & dance, which was fun. All bungalows are all over-the-water, rustic but clean & comfortable beds. The termites are busy at night, as there was sawdust on the floors each morning, but the maids kept the place clean. The diving was excellent, although the first checkout dive on the house reef had quit poor visibility, and we weren't happy that we didn't go to a different first dive site (we all were very experienced divers). The dive boats were fine, camera handling good. Peter the overall manager was extremely helpful and service-oriented, as were the staff in general. A very friendly place. I'd go back as another prelude to a live aboard. I don't know that I'd spend two weeks here, but 3-7 days of diving would be a good amount of time. |

UW Photo Comments | Nice but smallish camera room. Great UW photo ops because it's Raja. Camera's handled well by staff. |
