Comments This is a special report to praise the better-than-outstanding service of Wendy, Claire, and the entire crew of the Paradise Dancer.

first, Raja Ampat is a trip location not to be missed on the bucket-list of dive destinations. Although it does not get the 'crazy-critters' rating of Lembeh Straits, it definitely offers color, unique fish sightings, and more pygmy seahorses and wobbegongs than you can imagine. The red anemone, the epaulet sharks, the wonderpus' and the cuttlefish are amazing. Lots of nudis, many gorgeous sitings.

The Paradise Dancer is not like every other live-aboard. She is a gorgeous yacht fit for a queen. Three masts, under full sail, she is spectacular. Cabins are spacious, and I didn't even have a melt-down that I had a room-mate because we had plenty of room. The captains suite is like a boutique hotel - posh, modern, artsy-cool, but still, its a boat! wow. The entire boat is sleek, modern, and wonderful.

The best part is the service. Is it possible to get tired of a massage after every dive? I don't think so! Fantastic, relaxed, and very elegant. After night dives we had special hot-cocoa with Baileys and secret ingredients that warmed us through. Food was excellent.

And, Captain Wendy has reset the bar for being professional, experienced, yet comes across as easy-going while being efficient, intelligent and on task. A sea-loving joy as a person, someone everyone would love to befriend. She is extremely experienced at sea and in Indonesia.

While just a few days into my Raja Ampat adventure, I received a call from the satallite phone that my father had passed away. We were in the middle of no-where, four days into our journey. Through calm and rational thinking by Wendy, her crew, she used her contacts, the well-trained staff of Peter Hughes, and her crew Wendy was able to coordinate my return with little to no interference to the remaining guests, no disruption to disappoint any divers, and safely and efficiently arrange my transport back to Sarong and on to the USA. I have encountered on-boat tragic or emergency situations before, but never before have I experienced such well coordinated and safe efforts with low impact, low drama, and such professionalism. It is for these occasions I feel it is important to dive with someone with as much experience and professionalism - its the behind the scenes stuff we never see that we are really greatful for. Instead of diving on a budget, you know your money is going towards your safety and comfort. I am so impressed - if only our country could be run with such efficiency and confidence!

Anyway, I will be repeating this trip sometime soon - maybe taking the same incredible boat and crew to North Sulawesi.

Please purchase trip insurance! I got most of my trip package cost back, but not the airfare. Worth the money if there is a problem.
