Comments The trip is long and difficult to arrive in Sorong, West Papua and involves an overnight flight from Jakarta. Then it is another 3-3.5 hour boat ride to the resort on Pulau Pef. But the journey is worth the effort. The resort is still new and some added construction is ongoing but all facilities for a great stay are in place. The staff is exceptional - friendly and helpful. The food was superb. Most of the divers were Swiss or German as the owners of the resort are Swiss. But the whole experience just blends together and everyone has a great time. The saying there is: "Arrive as a guest, feel like a king and leave as a friend". This statement was true for us and we hope to return.
The diving in Raja Ampat was sensational. The corals and small life were the best we have seen in over 25 years of active diving around the world. There were a number of live a board boats in the region diving the same reefs but these boats looked spartan in comparison to the amenities at the resort. Try this for resort diving - it will change your view!!
