Comments I have been on this boat 3 times already and am going to go back next June. I just read a bad report about this boat and they are just wrong. The boat is well organized. The owner lives on the boat and makes sure everything is done right. The guides ( which is the most important thing) are great. The food is very good. Better than many boats I have been on. The only issue is that the ladders from the downstairs rooms to the main deck are steep. I am 66 and I manage The bedrooms are bigger than many of the boats. The other nice thing about this boat is that it goes to places where other boats do not go. If you are looking for a boat in Indonesia for a reasonable price this is one you should consider

When were you last on the boat? How was the diving? What was the water temperature? How were the currents? How old is the boat? Do they have Nitrox? When was the boat last refurbed? How was the food?

I was on the boat in May of this year. All diving in Indonesia is great. I did Raja Ampat. Some places no current and some places lots. I do not know how old the boat is a few years i think It is dry dock right now. He takes it out for a month every year to spruce it up. Yes they have nitrox. The food was as good an most dive boats. It is not the Ritz but I have had much worse

Im a big fan of the Tambora. I have done two trips - the most recent last month and do not have a single negative to say about Uwe and the boat and crew. Yes they have Nitrox, The boat is superbly maintained - it is a wooden Phinisi and like all wooden boats has its quirks (my first trip Sept 2014)had a minor leak on night in my cabin but that is wooden boats..this leak was a drip or two nothing to complain about at all. I cant fault the food - 2 breakfasts, lunch always is a selection of dishes both western and asian served, Dinner always has a soup course and salad course. The soup course is a favourite of mine and perfect after a night dive. Uwe is also a very environmentally concious operator who puts the safety of his divers first. I would not hesitate to use Tambora again and will do in the near future.
