Comments [None]Dove this resort in combo with previous week at Kungkungan Bay Resort. They offer a variety of dive options, including trips to Lembeh Straits, where we spent the previous week macro diving. We chose to do daily 2 tank dives to Bunaken park, mountainous islands 2 hours away by sloow boat. They have large day boats with galley facilities and serve lunch onboard after 2 morning dives, then back to shore for 3rd dive. After a week of macro diving, the walls on Bunaken were a striking visual change. After a few days of taking extreme close-ups of exceptionally tolerant Hawsbill Turtles. I vowed not to shoot them anymore but they were hard to resist; usually many on every dive. Some macro opportunities on 3rd dive. Saw biggest Cuttlefish I've ever seen, at least 2' long; also huge frogfish. Did 16 dives in week.
Tried snorkeling with non-diving wife on shore and there were some fish but no coral and generally rubble. Supposed to be decent diving and snorkeling over 1000' off. We did some 3rd dives close and there was some shallow coral that would probably make for decent snorkeling.
All meals were mediocre buffets except for the barbecue night which was better.
