Comments If you have never been to WAKATOBI...but have heard stories. They are all true. Five stars all the way. This is our 5th trip to Indonesia and our 3rd to Wakatobi. I will say this. If you are only jazzed by large pelagics; then WAKATOBI may not be your jam. The sharks are there, though you will not see them often. Rare to see mantas or eagle rays. However, if you love outrageous coral and a biodiversity that is hard to beat anywhere. Then by all means plan a trip to Wakatobi. The resort just turned 30 this past year. Keeps improving and never seems to take short cuts.

Let's start with the accommodations. The choice in bungalows are jungle or beach front. There are also 4 bungalows on Turtle Beach; which is the furthest from the dinning and dive operations. Excellent way to get your steps in. Plus Turtle Beach has the largest, wide open sandy beach area; out of the entire resort. Wakatobi also has villas to accommodate families or group of friends.
