Comments My husband and I stayed a week on the Pelagian and a week in the resort. This trip was a total splurge after the isolation of Covid- very expensive. However the accommodations, food, service and quality of the diving were top notch. I dove extensively in the Red Sea in the early 1980s, and there were dives from the Pelagian, where the fish life transported me back in time!

Service on the boat was top notch. After each dive you are provided with a warm dry towel and a hot drink. Individual hot water showers are conveniently located and your gear is rinsed dried and folded - ready for your next dive!

Food was incredible and varied. Staff were attentive and the vibe was of comfortable, friendly, efficiency.

The resort accommodations were also the nicest I have experienced. Day trips out to the reefs were about 20-30 minutes on spacious, well maintained boats. We often ended up being the only divers with the dive master. Again incredible variety of fish.
Our friends reported seeing about 250 different species on the house reef alone!

We would happily return to Wakatobi. On a second trip, I think we would opt to just stay on the Pelagian to experience the more remote areas. Wind and weather prevented us from doing some crossings this last trip. We would also opt for a less expensive cabin as we spent little time in ours- always out diving!
