Comments After diving in Sipadan in April, I decided to go to Layang Layang which I heard is the second-best known diving spot in Malaysia and I flew there from Kota Kinabalu in a the morning in a 40 seaters plane chartered by the resort, which surprisingly had no turbulence.
The resort I chose was well-organised, and although the rooms were relatively basic with Air Con, I was satisfied, and the staff were lovely and so helpful that I could forgive the average food.
I was more interested in the diving with the hammerhead sharks which were there in big school after several days of looking for them as it was the mating season (April/May). So it's recommended to stay a week for the hammerheads.
