The resort is sorely in need of an update. Two members of our group fell through the boards in the walkway!. Numerous issues in our room - the shower door was stuck open, a chair was broken, the door lock didn’t work, the ceiling was falling in, several times we had no water. However, the staff did their best to fix problems when asked. All meals are served buffet-style. The food choices tended toward Asian cuisine & was mediocre and serving dishes were often empty. Those that ordered special meals sometimes had to wait 30 - 45 minutes for their meals. While the diving on Sipadan Island was very good, the diving around Mabul was mediocre. The dive operation took us to the same artificial reef three times (& would have again, if we hadn’t complained) where there were always 5 - 6 other dive boats and poor visibility. The dive boats had no beverages on board (they take you back to the shore after every dive where there is water, coffee, tea and a snack), but it would still be nice to have water to drink on the 20 minute boat ride back. We had a diIferent boat crew just about every day, so they never learned the diver’s preferences for gearIng up & never brought the gear out in the same order which made it difficult to team up with your buddy in the water , especially when there was a current. |
