Comments After 18 months of no diving, my wife and I just returned from the Maldives. We had an amazing trip at the Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru before and after a 7 day scuba diving trip aboard the Four Seasons Explorer. Being concerned with Covid, we selected the Four Seasons Resort and the Explorer not just because of the amazing reviews their guests post, but also because of their enhanced health and safety program.

The diving was great. A few of the reefs have suffered some bleaching but we also saw healthy reefs, lots fish, sharks, turtles, eels, Mantas and much more. It was our 1st trip to the Maldives and we were amazed at how fishy the dives were. The schools were so dense that it often seemed the sun was being blocked by clouds. The dive team at both the resort and on the boat were professional and eager to understand what critters you were interested in and planned dives to find them. All dives are guided and around 50 minutes. Our dive guide, who did the briefings, checked currents, spotted critters and ensured safety was fantastic (and as enthusiastic about diving as we were) as were the tender drivers, deck hands and everyone who made the diving experience a pleasure. If diving is your passion, watch the recent videos on YouTube for the Four Seasons Explorer and you'll get a good perspective of what to expect.

Beyond diving, the experience at the Resort and on the Explorer was exceptional. All facilities are superbly maintained, the staff eager to meet your every need (and also really fun to talk with) and the food amazing. When we first arrived at our Villa there was a Manta drawn in the sand and underneath written "Welcome Home". Not sure how they do it, but everyone we met knew our name, what we liked and reflected a genuine interest in how we were enjoying our time there. As we left, we did feel we were leaving friends.
