Comments The diving was excellent, with abundant underwater life. Every dive had eels, a wide variety of fish, rays, lobsters and sea stars. There is a small colony of sea lions that came close enough to look us over but didn't interact with us other than that. Water temps were very comfortable and visibility was excellent. There was some current at one or two sites but it was manageable. We dove 7 sites on 3 islands and all were completely different. Loreto Bay is an underwater preserve and the fish populations show that it's working. Leon knows the area very well and took us to excellent dive sites.

Leon's kids go along on the boat on the weekends, as does Cleopatra, the yellow lab. Some might not care for the company, but we thoroughly enjoyed them. Bottlenose dolphins followed the boat, putting on a terrific show as we came back to port.

Baja Outpost is undergoing renovation with the addition of a large pool, and once it is complete it will be a nice addition. The palapas are comfortable and the location is convenient to restaurants. There are no phones or tv in the rooms. Purified water is provided for guests. Breakfast is cooked to order every morning, and a delicious lunch is provided on every dive trip. It isn't the fanciest place in town, but you get a full day of diving, a good location and comfortable lodging for a good price.
