Comments La Paz is a very nice town we really enjoyed the accomidations and the food in town was excellent. There really are some nice restaurants to choose from. People were friendly and the town it self was very clean and we felt safe the whole time. Cortez Club had very accommodating staff very friendly and knowledgable. Boats were Mexican panga style and little small. The only negative was the lack of a fresh water rinse tank or bucket for my camera. I requested a fresh water bucket but there was no room available on the smaller boats.

Dive Master did a great job with our request for dive sites. I wanted to dive two of their wrecks and she made it happen the very next day. We also swam with whale sharks on our final day which was super cool. I was very glad to see that the local government was very conscientious on how they managed the swim with the whale sharks. No touching and they didn't open the season until enough whale sharks were in the bay. I'm glad to see they are protecting this natural resource.

We also had an opportunity to dive with a manta ray. We only saw one, but I was able to swim along side it and got some great video footage.

And of course diving with the sea lions was also fun and a great photo/video opportunity. My wife and I will definitely go back and dive with the Cortez Club next season.

UW Photo Comments No fresh rinse buckets on the smaller panga style boats. Lots of interesting subject matter. Friendly sea lions, whale shark, manta ray and some very good size schools of fish. Overall rating only gets 3 stars due to the lack of rinse buckets.
