Comments First of all, La Paz was a really neat city. The Malecon along the main street and beach was very nice and both locals and tourists enjoyed the 4 mile track. La Pasada was a very nice hotel on the beach with a nice Pool area, Restaurant, and Bar. Now to the diving. We selected Dive Gurus because of the reviews on Undercurrent and Trip Advisor and their website. The website boasts numerous Dive sites including El Bahio, an open water seamount where schooling hammerheads typically were seen. The rides to the dive sites range from 2 to 3 1/2 hours each way on a small 6 pack style boat. The ladder on the boat was extremely short barely extending into the water and was very difficult to get back on the boat. Los Isoletes Sea Lion Colony was the most memorable dive probably because we did it 4 times in a week. The sea lions were curious and fun to dive, a few times. The Fang Ming Wreck would have been a good dive with a torch but no-one advised us to bring one and none were available.
The morning we were going to El Bahio we had a 3 1/2 hour boat ride to the site to have them not be able to find the sea mount. So we stopped back at the Sea Lion Colony to do that again.
Overall La Paz is a nice destination if you want to dive a day or two but not a good location to dive every day.
