Comments This was my first dive in Puerto Vallarta and I decided on PV ocean tours based on the recommendations of this site and others. All of the reviews were accurate, and the pre-trip planning and the two dives we did went off with only one minor hitch. I should have brought my own fins, or told Marc that I required regular boot fins. Instead, I was given very poor snorkeling fins to do the two dives with. Because of the surge and the current at the devil throat I struggled a bit. The BCD was in great shape and Marc also provided a 3mm hood to keep things a bit warmer. On the dives there was Marc and a Divemaster and 3 divers including myself. Dive 1, Los Arcos consisted of back entry in the snorkeling area, then lining up and heading down the devil throat to the northern edge of the island and out over the 1500ft drop off at about 90 feet. Dive 2 was off Mismaloya Beach, a shallow sandy bottom past some interesting reef structure. The snorkle area of Los Arcos was good and I saw the best pipe fish I have ever seen. On the rest of the dives we saw the usual tropical fish, one stingray ,one decent sized turtle, one eel, one scorpion fish. Along with my gopro I took a flood light for taking video. Particulate in the water was a bit of a problem but being off angle solved most of it. We did two dives and by the end of the second my 5mm was just barely hanging in there, a third dive would have been too cold.
It's a pleasure diving with Marc and Alun!

UW Photo Comments I was using a simple gopro so there was no requirement for UWP facilities. If I had asked in advance I'm sure something would have been done.
