Comments The boat is noisy everywhere. Bring noise-canceling earphones. Quad rooms with bunks. 4 heads on deck, each with a shower. 2 sinks with mirrors. Dining room perfectly adequate. Chef Miguel AWESOME!! Milk crate storage under your tank seat. Diving from RIBs. Do let the crew help you enter and exit the RIBs. Backroll off RIBs. After the dive remove weights, BCD, and fins and hand them to RIB crew before climbing ladder. Dives are deep, 80-110 feet, so mostly less than an hour. We dived San Benedicto, Socorro, and Roca Partida. All spectacular. Dr. Deni Ramirez was researching pregnant whale sharks, with the objective to obtain ultrasounds. She had a black box with a wand and was able to ultrasound a few pregnant whale sharks. Awesome.
My only complaint was that the dive leaders wanted to descend, swim furiously against the current for 30 minutes, then ascend. I noticed early that if my Buddy & I stayed still, the dolphins, whale sharks, and mantas came to us. So the RIB had to come fetch us. Not a problem for me. The hammerheads were deep ~100 feet, and there were hundreds of them. Spectacular. I highly recommend this trip and will do it again soon.
