Comments Socorro lived up to its reputation for big animal encounters. I was on the last trip of the season and we still managed to see; giant mantas - too many to count, sharks - silver tips, Galapagos, silkys and hammerheads. No schooling hammerheads because the schools were too deep. 1 juvenile whale shark. Pods of dolphins that swam with the divers. Occasional tuna. Lots of schooling fish, morays and octopus.

The crew of the SolmarV is very professional. The dive masters were knowledgeable and gave detailed dive briefings. The food was great and they kept us well fed.

Most dives were from pangas(inflatables) and the drivers were excellent at finding you and picking you up at the end of the dive.

Rooms are a smaller than other boats, but very comfortable and clean.
