Comments Expectations are very important. For the Palau Aggressor II, our expectations were not as high as with other dive trips. Two major factors contributed to this: 1) a cruise director on a years-ago Siren cruise had worked Palau and said it was just a floating hotel and perhaps not worth it, and 2) we had been burned by the Aggressor company before. So, we were highly skeptical of this boat even though our diving buddies have always raved about it. We also judged from the website photos that the carpeting on the walls in the cabins and cheap Florida-style décor (shower curtains, bedspreads, wall art) were unappealing and cheaply done. On a trip just prior to booking this we asked all of the seasoned divers on the boat what their top 3 dive destinations were and every last one of them said Palau was first or was at least in the top 3. Ok, it was time to just give it a try. We looked into other boats but felt that the Aggressor price was reasonable and we wanted to see what our friends loved about this boat.
At the start of our trip we walked onto the boat and frankly, looked for all the flaws we were expecting. I know I was looking for reasons to affirm my already low opinion of the Aggressor brand. I found none. Not a one. This is an excellent boat. The dive ops, guides, cabins (yes, even with the wall carpeting), food, and reefs wer ... Subscribe to get the full story.
