Comments We stayed at Traders Ridge, dove with Beyond the Reef. Both were well run by friendly people who tried hard to get you the dives you desired. WE had two typhoons hit Gwam while we were in Yap which made parts of the reef unavailable. We were told that these areas contained some of the better diving. We did 12 dives on Yap and in hindsight wished for more. We did the Manta channel 3 times (lots one time, 1 once and none once), the macro 3 times (the last two at our request) for 1.5+ hours each time (Mandrin fish, Pipe fish, lion fish and much more) and 6 drift dives outside the reef. When i go to this area again I will plan at least a week here. The island itself had some things of interest,i.e., native dances, etc. We were very happy with both the dive operation and the resort.

UW Photo Comments Boats will only handle 4 divers. Generally only 2 plus Dive guide plus float handler plus boat driver. The guide was great at finding the site to get the type of photos wanted and great at finding small things. The boat didn't have a rinse tank but one was provided at the dock and the crew was very careful with gear.
