Comments Odyssey is approaching 10 years in Truk and for much of that time has been the world’s most popular live-aboard. Out 5th visit (since 2003) showed that she still deserves that title. Although the owner-founders, Cara and Lenny, were not aboard on our most recent trip, many of the crew members who made it the best are still there. Capt JJ, Purser Kim, and Todd head the crew, who all still make the best wreck diving on earth as much fun as possible. Dive when you want, go where you want, penetrate wrecks or not, breathe what gas you want, surface when your computer wants. No to little need for thermal protection, but skins or a light wetsuit will protect against scrapes on the wrecks. Two dives in the morning, 2 in afternoon, 1 after dinner. You can dive San Francisco Maru on the last Saturday, if you like, or do another dive if you don’t fancy a deco dive to 165 ft. The ship, the crew, the food, the diving are all excellent, and we can attest that everything is as good as it was on our first charter.
Odyssey was built by divers for divers, and always showed it, but the recent refit made some improvements which were welcome. Air-con is much more responsive, deck surface is better . . . The food is excellent – chef Gina is one of the old timers on the crew.
This will be your best week of diving ever.
