Comments There may be nothing bad to tell. I spent a couple of days on the Walindi Resort Day Boats prior to boarding the MV FeBrina for a 10 day cruise of Fathers, Witu and Kimbe Bay. Day Boat crews were excellent, sites beautiful, fairly short rides. Walindi Resort accommodations excellent - cottage lovely, staff welcoming, very attentive to all needs, great food, beautiful grounds.
MV FeBrina crew including dive master/guides, cabin crew, and cooks just wonderful, friendly, competent people. Two sometimes three local dive master/guides on every dive 4 to 5 dives daily. Maximum number of divers 12 - 11 on this trip due to accommodating three single divers - all skilled, experienced divers, photographers mostly considerate of each other's shots. Very relaxed, easy diving for the most part. Water too warm for my 3mm. wore just a full skin even on night dives. Boat is small but plenty of room for everything. Soft and hard corals & sea grasses, fans etc. in great shape, lots of fish, lots of reef sharks. Amazing muck diving. Only a few sites with strong currents, lots of great walls, some deeper swim throughs.
Food & wine fabulous - fresh, tasty and lots of it! PNG not easy to access from the US - 30 hour trip from San Francisco due to not great connections. used Air Niugini from Narita and back thru Hong Kong with great success - no major delays, no cancellations. Can't say enough great things about Walindi Resort and MVFeBrina!

I am interested in PNG but have avoided it because of the travel difficulties - not easy to get to and stories about PNG not being safe. What was your experience?
