Comments I returned to Dumaguete after 15 years and stayed at the same resort which had been upgraded and added on with many more rooms. Rooms were nice, enough storage, comfortable beds, and we as two women were put right near the dining room, office and on the beach which was wonderful.
There was one fairly large group when we arrived which left the next day followed by another fairly large group. Food was excellent and the chef even fixed us a Philippine night which was delicious. Diving was good at some sights and lousy at others. I did not remember having any lousy dives when we had been there 15 years ago. DMs were excellent. My partner and I had the same DM the entire time we were there which was totally fine with us as he got us to sights that were really not open for business. San Miquel South Cars, San Miguel North, Dauin North , Orion Pier, Sahara (best site), Roc East. Apo Island (beautiful coral and sea life) were all very good sites with lots to see. Most dives, excluding Apo Island, were muck dives. A few dives not mentioned were pretty desolate. We did go to the whale sharks for the day which was great. They were being fed so stayed around the area constantly. We probably saw 8-10 whale sharks with 2-3 hanging around where we were in the water. They were probably 15 feet in length. I believe I got Covid on the plane going over as with my 5 mil wetsuit I was freezing while diving in 82 degree water temp. I was put up in one of the resort rooms for two extra days until my test for Covid was negative. The room was wonderful as was the staff who brought meals and drinks for me. It and the staff could not have been nicer. They changed my plane reservations which took hours I understand. Really a great resort.
