Comments The humid, hot air enveloped us as we stood outside the airport in Cebu. We were making this a 2 week, 2 island/resort trip and our final destination was back in here in Cebu. Having been met with a smiling representative of our overnight stay in Cebu, it was quarter after "really late" we stood waiting for our transportation. We overnighted at the Be Hotel. A comfortable place with a fantasitc staff that made sure our arrangements for transportation were made. So, on to Dumaguete via a 4 hour cab ride that would, at times, raise the hair on the back of your neck and a short fairy ride from the island of Cebu to Dumaguete. We were met and at the dock and driven a nicely air conditioned SUV to Atlantis Beach Resort.

I was a bit worried when we turned off the well maintained road at the faded resort sign and drove down an almost impassable road past less than welcoming homes. But we were met at the parking area, past the guard, and escorted to the outdoor dining area. We were introduced to the assistant manager and given a welcoming drink. From then on you could not have asked for a better experience. The muck diving is great. The staff is great spotting things for you, carrying gear or whatever you need.

The staff at the restaurant could not be better taking special requests, or whatever, for meals or drinks.

There is plenty written about this resort, and it is all well deserved regarding the people and muck diving.

As far as the diving around Apo island I wasn't really all that impressed by it. It may have been the weather, it was a bit overcast and we just were not seeing the things we had hoped for. The trip to Siquijor was a better experience with interesting sea life like a "giant" frog fish about the size of a volleyball. After seeing tiny ones in the muck I was blown away by this monster.

All in all I would absolutely recommend this resort and I am looking forward to my next visit. Oh, and my wife says to try the spa.
