Rough seas for overnight "sail" to Tubbataha National Park in middle of Sulu Sea. Only put sail up 1 hour/week for pix; might have helped steady boat for rough crossing. Should have brought Scop Patch for my 15 year old grandson's first liveaboard. Did 18 dives in week there. Typical marine life from crew report for 1 dive at South Atoll: FISH: Manta ray, Grey reef shark, Lunar fusiliers, Randall’s fusiliers, Blue and yellow fusiliers, Pyramid butterflyfish, Whitetip reef sharks, Flagtail groupers, schools of Surgeonfish, Black and Midnight snappers, Humphead parrotfish, Harlequin sweetlips, Blue-girdled Angelfish, Six-banded Angelfish, Longface emperor, Bluefin trevally, Giant moray eel with one eye, Denise pygmy seahorse, Scribbled filefish. NUDIS: Phyllidia CRUSTACEANS: Bubble coral shrimp, Whip coral goby OTHER: Hawksbill turtle, steep and deep wall with very shallow plateau, canyons and overhangs, lots of soft coral, massive Gorgonian and Barrel sponges – density of sea fans is amazing |
