Comments We went to the Philippines on a Kids Sea Camp trip, our third. It was absolutely fabulous. KSC does such a great job of training the kids and letting them dive together, while the adults go diving. Pura Vida is an absolutely gorgeous resort, with beautiful, apartment-like rooms. The dive boats are the best I have ever been on -- big, roomy, and with super cool outriggers on both sides. The dive staff was fabulous. I was diving with a torn tendon and couldn't get up the ladder with all of my equipment on. They were always right there at the ladder to help me take off my equipment and hand it up. The dive masters were incredible at pointing things out, even the smallest macro species. We did a mind-blowing dive one day at Oslob Island with EIGHT whale sharks!! We also dived at Apo Island two days, which is like diving in the middle of an aquarium. There is a great variety of diving. The food was good and plentiful, and the people were lovely. It was the trip of a lifetime, even though we have also been to Palau and Fiji with KSC. Those were fantastic trips, too, but this one was really special. One thing I would caution people about: my regulator and computer were confiscated at the airport in Manila on the way home. I was told they were "forbidden" items to take on the plane, even though no objections had been made on previous legs. I spent an hour trying to get my equipment back and had to check it. So, don't try to carry on your regulator or computer if you have to go through security in Manila.
