Comments Vieques was great. Nan-Sea Charters was a big part of the good time we had.

This was our first time in Vieques. We rented a wonderful ocean front apartment, Miramar, which is one of several wonderful apartments that is the Evamer property, overlooking Vieques' north coast. Most of our time though was spent a few miles across the island in and around Esperanza, described at "Key West 1952." Maybe; it certainly has a fun vibe. Very good food scene there and nice ocean front strollway (Malecòn) The former Naval bombing range which is the eastern half of Vieques is now mananged by US Federal Fish and Wildlife. Rent your jeep and visit immaculate, unpopulated, stunning beaches when you're not diving, visiting galleries, eating at food trucks or foodie worthy restaurants.

Mark and Rooster recently took over Nan-Sea Charters. They provided one of the best dive operations experiences we've had over twenty+ years of diving. Their boat holds only 6 divers. The two of us were the only divers half the 4 days, 2 dives/day. Most sites were less than 10 minutes from the dock. Rental BCs, regs, computers were all new. Typical Caribbean stuff, though never before saw as large areas of grass eels or areas with a score or so of yellow-headed jawfish bobbing out of their holes, which might be an indicator of the good health of the area reefs.

After a very short attempt to keep Nan-Sea Charters going, Mark and Rooster sold the business to Vieques Dive Company.
