Comments Getting to Sharm from Israel wasn't easy, no direct flights, so we flew to Eilat and drove 3 hours. It was well worth the effort. Lots of hotels offering all classes of accomodation. We stayed at the Hyatt which was not walking distance to Naama Bay, but did have good shore diving and a water park. We dove with Lucky Divers and they were terrific with us and our two inexperienced 13 year old divers. Many companies will share a large, comfortable boat, and Lucky Divers provided us with the same guide for just the 4 of us for 2 days without even asking . We spent all day on the boat as they are very slow, but the trip to Ras Mohammed was a highlight. The corals are spectacular, healthy and very colorful. Lots of tropical fish, little to moderate currents. We didn't need to go very deep (restricted to 60 feet with the kids) and didn't feel like we were missing much except maybe a dive to see lots of hammerhead sharks!
Sharm in the summer is hot, very hot and I wouldn't recommend it if you are not into diving. It's a big resort area with a couple of casinos, but not much in the way of culture that we could see. The ATV ride into the desert was lots of fun and a good way to spend our last evening.
