Comments My dive buddy and I enjoyed the attentive and relaxed attitude of Ahmed Bijou, the owner of New Son Bijou Dive Center. Ahmed really took care of us! He LOVES diving, that much is clear. He is a very careful master diver and we always felt safe. I learned much from him while I was there. We stayed in the apartments above the dive shop. The accommodations were comfortable and close to the dive center family and we found this to be extremely enjoyable because we felt as though we were included. The other thing that we found convenient is that Lidija (Ahmed's wife, who is from Eastern Europe) helped us with countless things. Egypt is a weird place for Americans and I felt very safe, with Lidija's guidance. My dive buddy and I wouldn't have traded this type of experience for a "group" trip. I don't think I could have felt safer! However, we did stay in the dive center most nights (we don't party, we just dive!) and we didn't walk the streets. We used the taxi driver that they recommended and went to the restaurants that we heard about on the boat. The sea life was much different and I found much joy in seeing all the new critters, clams and of course, the dolphins! Many may be afraid to travel to Egypt, but I must say that each day in our country is a gift as well. Be smart and respect the customs. At one point, one of the dive masters tried to engage me in politics -- when I told him that I am a mother and that my own son's don't listen to me, they seemed to understand. Let's change the world one dive at a time.

Enforced diving restrictions It was pure joy. New Son Bijou's Ahmed (owner) is a splendid master diver. He made sure that we were comfortable and then trusted us with the appropriate amount of freedom.
