Comments This review is for the Northern Red Sea, we did all 21 dives offered during our week long live aboard trip. If you enjoy wreck diving you will enjoy this itinerary. Night dives were offered every night.

Coral reefs seemed to be healthy but we didn't see many big fish which was a disappointment. We snorkeled briefly with a small pod of dolphin about 6 or 7. We also dove a spot called Dolphin House a shallow reef pass known for friendly dolphin encounters but the morning we were there no encounter was to be had. I'm glad we jumped in for the snorkel mid channel after a dive on the SS Thistlegrom when the opportunity presented itself.

The boat crew and dive guides did a wonderful job. Dives were either guided or on your own with a buddy. A fresh towel and refreshing drink was immediately available after each dive. The food was also plentiful and good quality. No complaints whatsoever with the crew.

We booked one of the master suites on the top deck which would have provided a quick exit in case of an emergency (the Aggressor I burned and sunk the day before our departure!!!). Our suite did have a bad sewer smell inside the cabin but once we altered staff to the problem they were quick to attempt to remedy the problem which they were 90% successful at.

My only real negative comment would be the number of dive boats on quite a few of the dive spots. We did three dives on the SS Thistlegrom, when we arrived there were 8 boats anchored on the site. That first dive had so many divers on the wreck it was a real disappointment. Especially with the strong current in the shipping channel. There were so many lines and divers on the wreck it was frustrating. We hatched a plan to dive the wreck the next morning before sunrise we finished our dive just as the sun rose. Since most of the dive is penetration it worked out fine with no other divers.

So for my conclusion - POSITIVES: lots of cool wrecks, staff was very attentive, good food, fun group of passengers and attentive captain that put us on a good spot as to avoid long swims or inflatable pick ups. NEGATIVES: too many boats and divers on many spots, no big fish.
