Comments Cherie and Tony run a very good operation. We have been diving with Saba Deep since before they owned it. They are very easy going and accomodating. Big Mike is an excellent guide and swims quite slowly so that photograhers never feel rushed. The dive briefings are good. The boat can be exited via giant stride or back roll. The ladder is easy to climb to get out of the water.

The first dive is usually a deep (110-125 feet) pinnacle dive and you often see sharks and large turtles. The corals are in good shape and some of these dives (Third Encounter) are spectatcular.

The second and third dives are in shallower water and usually there are good corals, hot sand and a lot of interesting things to see. You will often see southern sting rays, occasionally frogfish and seahorses plus lots of turtles, tarpon, large jacks and the usual variety of tropicals. There are also a lot of eels and smaller stuff.

Saba is a great island to dive on and Queen's Garden is a fabulous hotel. Great meals, nice pool, very friendly staff and a great view of the mountain and the ocean. Many of the rooms have very large hot tubs.

We have been going here since 2006 and dive with Saba Deep every Christmas. We plan to go back next year.

UW Photo Comments There is a dedicated rinse bucket on the boat which can hold several compact and micro 4/3 rigs but it would difficult to get full size rigs into the bucket. There is no rinse tank on shore. Since you come into shore after each dive you can change batteries, lenses and memory cards easily in the restaurant.
