Comments This is our second time with sea saba which is a real compliment. For us to do a repeat within a few years speaks volumes for what we consider a magic formula. It starts with a fantastic location and spectacular reefs...add the core ingredient of a long standing dive shop that really understands what makes for a great dive experience from the logistics to the crew to the boats and the flexibility to understand, anticipate, and respond to your needs...at various levels of di e experience.

Sea saba was also able to coordinate our accomodations and made the trip planning near seamless. They help navigate and book your dining options as well. We had great luck and wonderful food and hospitality last time at Juliana ' s and stayed in a 2 bedroom villa spyglass this time.

If you are a diver trying to dodge tourist traps or resort warriors...there is no better place to stay and dive. Restaurant choices and cuisine astounding for such a small island...quaint and beautiful accomodations at. All price points as well.
Location, dedicated and genuine dive operators and crew, fab food and beverages...truly a special formula.

Dive Experience 101-250 dives
Where else diving All over the world
Closest Airport St. Maarten Getting There Using WInAir - small commuter planes. I'd give plenty of margin for connection times as flights are often delayed -especially during holidays. Air traffic control in SXM controls it - but would allow a couple extra hours buffer. St. Maarten is overbooked by every US airline so missing a connection (during holidays) means staying an extra couple of days. Easy to plan for if you know in advance.

Dive Conditions

Weather sunny, windy Seas calm, choppy
Water Temp 72-75°F / 22-24°C Wetsuit Thickness 3

Dive Policy

Dive own profile yes
Enforced diving restrictions Appropriate and expected restrictions in place. Did a nice job of providing for varied skill and equipment levels (ie. those with computers and those without, and those on air profiles vs. nitrox). Extremely experienced and situationally aware crew and adjusted restrictions for actual conditions
Liveaboard? no Nitrox Available? yes

Overall rating for UWP's 4 stars Shore Facilities 3 stars
UW Photo Comments They provide padded coolers since buckets get crowded as alternatives. The crew are tuned into photo ops and guide accordingly. The shore facilities rating is a function of the geography of the island that makes it so special. Sea Saba makes it as seamless as possible within the physical constraints of the harbor and drive to the shop and most accomodations
