Comments I usually do not go to all-inclusive resorts, but this was 2020 (the 1st year of Covid). Sandals St Lucia was open with Covid restrictions from the government. They had the resort and some activities that were in the “Covid bubble”. Once you were tested you could move around the resort without a mask. The resort was at approximately 50% capacity.
Diving was included in the all-inclusive package at Sandals. The dive operation was very good, diving briefings were through and safety was important. The dive operator was about a 1 hour bus ride away (transportation was included), it was a long day. We left around 8 and returned around 2. They enforce the dive time and profile. We had about 30 minutes per dive and we all had to come up together. For $100 (I think) you could have a private guide to dive with and then you could stay down until you had 500 lbs of air. I did this one day so I could work on my photography skills. It was worth it to have two long dives. Visibility the first 2 days was not very good. It had rained (poured) the day before my first dive. The run off from the island was significant, as the week went on the visibility improved.
The resort itself is very nice, the food was excellent, staff were outstanding. It was an expensive trip, but given it was 2020 and the 1st year of Covid, it was worth the extra expense to be able to dive.
