Comments My fifteen trip to SVG. My first stay at Beachcombers. Tewes coined the phase "critter capital of Caribbean" well its true. See: [gtsgallery.phanfare.com link]. Frogfish, Seahorses, Nunis & fingerprint Cyphoma along with flatworms of all description. Callie and DJ, the dive masters have the eyes and it is your only chance to see Magnificent urchins in shallow water. Dives last until you use up your air! The above list of "critters" are seen on every dive--emphasis on every. The assortment of critters is the ONLY reason one would fly LIAT--IMHO the worse airline in the world. Fly SVGAir if you have the money. Ray Habermann dives and lives in SVG, he has replaced Tewes as the resident expert. He turns rocks to reveal flatworms for hours and is quite successful. I am informed Wes Wilk also comes to SVG for the same reasons cited above. Accommodation options: Young Island if you have the money--food to die for--all inclusive--NO TV. A disqualifier for me. Paradise Beach has a no frills apt with big kitchen for quite reasonable dollars. Beachcombers is a step up in price and quality. Large balconies and fine furnishings. ALL have what I consider excellent service. All are in 5-10 minute walking distance to Dive St Vincent--YI guests are picked up at dock.
