Comments DJ and Callie are great guides and show you tons of little critters. Callie brings a slate, so you can know what you're looking at. Most sites have no current, so you can take all the time you want looking for macro stuff, and getting good pictures, but there are some sites (out at points) that have fairly strong currents. They only have air, and this was news to me (guess I should have read more reviews, or read them closer). This was our first exposure to "muck" diving, and it won't be our last! Bring a magnifying glass.
We stayed at Paradise Beach Hotel, but we won't in the future. Our oceanview room was great with a balcony to hang out gear, but service and food was just so-so. The worst was the fact that when cruise ships were in, the padded lounge chairs on the verandah were "sold" to day trippers, and there were none available for hotel guests. Next door is Sunset Shores, and they have a pool, plus it didn't look like all their loungers were taken by cruisers. Both of these hotels are just a short walk down the beach from the dive shop and pier.
We didn't have a car, and were able to walk to a number of decent restaurants.
