This trip is the latest of many I have made to St Vincent and for details of the diving and life there, please see my previous reports. Nothing changes much on the island from year to year but this year I am pleased to report a major improvement - you can now fly direct to the island. Air Canada was the first major airline to fly direct to the new Argyle Airport, and from Phila one must connect through Toronto. American will soon be offering direct flights through Miami. The main advantage of a direct flight is avoiding smaller Caribbean carriers which are renown for delays, luggage problems, and all manner of travel headaches. Travel to the island is now much less stressful and I had substantial confidence that my dive gear would arrive with me (which it did). So if you have been avoiding this excellent Caribbean destination because of air travel issues, you don't have to wait any longer! |

UW Photo Comments | I'm a macro photographer and I keep coming back to the island because, quite simply, I get my best results here. This is old style Caribbean diving so don't expect to be spoiled and catered to here. Bring spare parts, backups and a tool kit. |
