UW Photo Comments My eleventh trip to St Vincent. The critters are there--frogfish, Seahorses--every dive--even pipehorses! Dive St. Vincent is excellant in the fact that DJ and Callie the DMs are sharp eyed and knowlegable. Now joined by Ray Haberman the hunt for critters is better than ever. Bill Tewes has left--a sad fact, but Ray is adding more critters everyday to St Vincent's special place for critter photography. This should not discourage those who might prefer reefs--they are some of the least dived and pristine in the Caribbean. No large fish, but slipper lobsters, octopus and many eels abound. Want sharks--you'll have to bring your own. A somewhat relief from Bahamas. The Paradise Beach Hotel provides exceptional value within minutes walking distance to Dive St. Vincent and many restaurants. HighTide a favorite. If you have the monies Young Island resort and food are to die for--but no TV. Beachcombers twenty yards further from Dive St. Vincent is a little more upscale and pricey--they have a pool. The apartment unit at Paradise had a small but good kitchen, one bedroom and small living room. AC in WiFi always available. Service staff eager to help and maid service was exceptional. There is only one downside to St. Vincent--LIAT the only airplane to service SVG other than private. If you can afford SVGAir it is an exceptional investment. LIAT is quite literally lost in another timezone! If you are a serious U/W phiotographer after small critters there is no place better without spending far more to fly far to the remote Pacific.
