Comments Had a wonderful week of diving with Dive Bequia. Cathy and her crew were professional. Mack was our main dive guide and he was adept at pointing out the small critters we were looking for as photographers. There were many, many arrow crabs and varieties of trumpet fish, and well as perhaps more lobsters than I have seen on any one dive anywhere else. Enjoyed the different types of crabs, blennies, etc. There are not many larger fish, but schools and schools of the smaller varieties. Diving was easy, with often a light drift. Corals were in good shape, and especially on the one wall dive saw huge barrels, fans, etc. Went on one night dive on the wreck near the entrance to the harbour and found it totally brilliant with the open orange coral. the crew were great about taking care of our gear every night and rinsing it out. It arrived dry the next morning and was all assembled for us. Air pressure was checked by the crew before each dive. We really enjoyed this gem
We stayed at the Gingerbread Hotel right next to the dive shop, and it was very easy to walk out to the end of the dock to go on each dive. The hotel had a breakfast/lunch bar that served good food. Although the main restaurant there was not open for the season yet, there are many good restaurant choices very close on either side of this hotel in easy walking distance down the shoreline on a concrete walkway right beside the water. Rooms in the hotel were equipped with adequate cooking facilities. We usually had breakfast at a table in front of the hotel under a large almond tree. Only drawback was you need to definitely spray for sand flies.
Good snorkelling in St. Margaret's bay, which was an easy walk from the hotel.
All told, Bequia is a gem of an island, and we hope to return..

UW Photo Comments As the dive boat was relatively small, there wasn't a camera table, but the crew were always careful to have a full bucket of fresh water to store and rinse camera and lights during trip to and from the dive.
