Comments I have done many liveaboards, mostly Aggressor fleet, and this was one of the better Aggressor dive trips I have been on over the years. Made even better by the captain and crew who were extremely attentive, personable, and made sure that all of your needs were met above and below the water. Caribbean diving has suffered from global ocean warming with resultant diseased coral. While the coral was not perfect here, it was certainly nice and more importantly there were abundant fish and sharks on almost every dive. The “Dome” site was amazing both for daytime and nighttime diving with colorful sponges that lit up at night. Not a lot of macro critters here. Excellent visibility. Water temp 78-79F most days. I get cold easily and wore 5ml wetsuit, 3ml hood, 5ml boots and gloves and was very comfortable with repetitive diving.
Good set up for photographers. Camera table, camera rinse bucket, ample chargers.
Time between dives felt rushed. Not enough time to clean up after dive 4 for dinner. But all surface intervals were appropriate. Nice robes, so most of us just wore robes for dinner since time was short.
Charging stations abundant and shut down on the dive deck at night. Outlets in room for charging but no charging in room unless you were physically present in room.
Could not enter country unless you were vaccinated and had a negative Covid test within 3 days of travel, which was very reassuring. I did not feel the need to wear a mask onboard due to this.
Rooms were classic Aggressor style. Comfortable bedding. Very cold, so more than excellent AC. No individual climate control in the rooms, so most of us simply covered the AC vent with a T-shirt to keep the temp more comfortable. Suggest bringing a sweatshirt and pants for sleeping.
Dive deck with 2 warm showers, soap and conditioner which were much appreciated.
My only disappointment was that we typically only did two or maximum of three different dive sites per day while doing five dives daily. Typical live aboard moves to at least four different dive sites for five dives. The captain said this was not due to fuel conservation, but because Turks and Caicos have limited mooring lines that will support a boat as large as the aggressor.
The food was not as flavorful as the typical aggressor chef food. But the menu was varied and upscale.
Overall very enjoyable. Best crew that I have traveled with. I would do this trip again.
