Comments The good: The dive shop was easily accessible - we stayed on the grounds of the resort, and they had a van to pick up any others in the locale. The dives: French Cay (Sites: Double D and 'the G Spot') and West Caicos were terrific - every reef species important to divers and cameramen - shark, eel, turtle, flamingo tongue, etc. As desired, they would load your equipment on/off the boat, rinse setup/breakdown, etc. The dive leaders were knowledgeable and helpful - pointing out various critters. I should add they proceeded at an excellent pace - slow as molasses! The dive and safety briefings were to-the-point and well done. The dive shop even addressed the inconvenience done to the group by a very unprepared diver.
The beach was excellent - my wife doesn't dive and spent the mornings there. We chose this over Grand Turk because of the availability of non-diving activities - restaurants, shopping, tours, etc.
Wish I'd known: Grace Bay is the go-to dive site - we went 2 of the 4 days I dove. Now, mind you - the Bay is much nicer than the quarries I usually dive in - but it's spur-and-groove diving, not the true - and more spectacular - wall diving that the islands are known for. I expected more robust coral and was struck at the seeming lack of reef fish in a couple sites. I would ask how much diving in French Cay or West Caicos you'll be guaranteed.
I'd go back, but if you're strictly into diving, you may want to consider another island or operator who can get you to the walls more often.
