Comments Getting to the Turks and Caicos was a bit of a bureaucratic challenge. Must be vaccinated and have negative Covid19 test within 72 hours if flight, plus travel insurance covering quarantine if Covid contracted during trip. All this must be uploaded to the Turks and Caicos portal and be approved before flight departure. This approval may not come until the night (or early morning) before you leave, which can cause some anxiety.

Dive Provo is a very good operation. Boats in good condition. Excellent dive masters, especially John and Ally) who know the sites inside and out, are good at pointing out stuff (especially small stuff), and go very slow (good for photographers like me who are very pokey). DMs are very sociable and take the time to get to know you and build a relationship. We did two dives a day most days, but were accommodated when we asked for some three dive days. We dived around Provo, West Caicos, and French Cay.

For divers diving multiple days, can leave gear on boat to be rinsed and set up the following day. Boats based in two marinas on opposite sides of Provo, so little chance of being blown out.

Corals are average for the Caribbean these days, which is not that great. Saw sharks most dives. Rays, eels, etc. Tons of Flamingo Tongues. No nudibranchs.

Water was a balmy 86 - no need for a wetsuit and didn’t need to touch my LP inflater except to descend and at the surface.

Spent a second week on South Caicos. Meh. Will cover in separate review.

UW Photo Comments Rinse tank on boat. Could be bigger. Slow DMs - good for photographers. No shore facilities for cameras but not needed. Wall dives decent for wide angle. Some good macro opportunities.
