Comments I had a mixed experience with Dive Provo.
The dive operation was well run on the surface and the boat was clean and comfortable. Everybody was friendly and helpful.
I was diving with an inexperienced companion. We had poor visibility on the first day and my companion wanted to stick close to the DM, but was very rattled by the experience because the DM didn't pay much attention to my companion, didn't check on air pressure, etc.
The DM completely lost me on several occasions. I wasn't especially bothered because I can use a compass and I could see the flicker of bubbles so I knew that I was near to the group. I have been on dives where the DM counted to see that everybody was near. I felt that the DM on these dives was only interested in getting out and getting back and assumed that everybody was with him.
I also felt that we could have spent a lot more time on the walls. I had more attentive DMs on other dives, which made my companion much more comfortable (and the visibility was much better), but all of them would swim along the wall for a while, then go to the top of the reef and swim back. I have been on wall dives elsewhere that stayed on the wall for the entire time. Dive Provo's guides could, IMO, plan the dives better.
All in all, though, I would dive with them again if I ever returned to the Turks and Caicos. That said, I wouldn't recommend Turks and Caicos as a dive destination. For the money there are many other better places to go.
